Shavlik, EminentWare and Secunia all have products to extend SCCM (ConfigMgr 2007) to handle patching third parties.

That's correct, thanks for clarifying. You can use those products with SCCM, but you don't need SCCM to use them. You can just use WSUS on it's own.
